MY DREAM JOB FLASHBACK 2016
My cover letter written 3 years ago I knew I wanted to work in a company that was in the fashion business with a mix of technology.
I am interested and excited to express my interest in your company MZ Wallace. I am making the transition from software technology to fashion technology and I believe that MZ Wallace is that company. My interest in fashion has been life long. I learned to sew, crochet, knit and embroider at 10 years old. I have boxes of crochet afghans, hats, and scarfs. Ping me if you want something.
After spending weeks unsuccessfully looking for a durable tote bag to take on vacation, I bought some burlap, paint and canvas for lining and created my first tote bag, CityTotes. I then opened my own Etsy Store https://www.etsy.com/shop/CityCirclets. I have traveled to Kenya to source fabric to create fabric wrapped bracelets and cosmetic bags, called CityBaglets. Based on my experience with creating and building a business, I believe this makes me an ideal candidate to join the MZ Wallace.
As a candidate, here’s what I could immediately bring to the table:
Customer Service - Building and running my store, I learned and enjoy engaging with customers. Their feedback is valuable, good or bad. I learned repeat business is based on customer service and quality of goods.
Internet/Technology Skills - With more than 10 years of software testing experience, I am the person who makes sure the website works. I am very comfortable, interested and excited by technology. And most importantly, I want to make sure customers have a great experience visiting any site I test.
A passionate technologist and lover of fashion, I have used my experience making and selling items to learn, grow and challenge myself to create the next interesting item for CityCirclets. I believe I can use this wisdom to help MZ Wallace flourish.

When I wrote this cover letter I never considered starting my own fashion business, 3 years later, here I am.… you never know what the future holds for you.
